I frequent a local town College Libray on the Eastern Shore Maryland when I come to visit my paretns - (Washington College - Chestertown, Maryland). This book would come to mind from time to time, and I tried diligently to find it "on Line" typing just about anything in the "google" search engine from "elementary children's school books" to "books of our youth" " 2 girls in a sailing skiff\boat" etc. However, for years and ever since I had first aquired this book (Time of Wonder) of my elementary school years, I just pondered in search as to how I could come across it again as I recalled the cover picture vividly and some of the pictures inside the book as well. There are books and magazines of my younger days that I found pictured on the internet and was just tickled to all colors to find them !!! I am almost 56 years of age, and I possess a tremendous photogenic and long term memory for many and various items of numerous sorts and experiences throughout my life, especially of my youth.

Listen to the novel New York Times best-selling author of The Alice Network Kate Quinn called "easily one of the best novels I have read all year". I took a turn reading it to her, and I noticed different facets of it than E, so my telling was a shade different. Sometimes she interjected to add something from a prior telling, others she inserted her own details. E kept making up the story of Pool, and EV began to interact with the story. Then, I watched something magic begin to happen. I was skeptical of it at first, recalling EV’s disinterest in Journey. Over the summer, E bought EV a wordless book called Pool. EV didn’t seem to love it, either. I took away that EV wasn’t excited about wordless picture books. I gave it a cursory page through and didn’t quite get it. Long before we had ventured to the library she was already cycling through books for EV every time she visited. The first time I encountered a wordless picture book for children was Journey at my mother’s house nearly a year ago. Humans share significant amounts of DNA with trees and through books like The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben, we’ve learned the scientific processes of how they communicate, support and nurture each other, protect against assault through their vast root systems. The book’s astonishing scientific data about trees, discovered during the last 30-40 years, is verifiable.
